China Hotel Address Card: Save Your Stay Details Offline

Create a China hotel address card with your hotel's Chinese name and address. Download the PNG, test it offline and keep it ready to show on arrival.

Save the address before you need to show it

A hotel name in English can be difficult to match when you are tired, offline or looking for the right branch. Prepare a card with the Chinese name and address supplied by your accommodation, then save it where you can open it without loading a website.

The existing China Clearly hotel-card tool creates a PNG image in your browser. You do not need a China Clearly account or an email subscription. The required fields are the accommodation name and address; a phone number and emergency contact are optional.

The card displays information you supply. It does not translate an address, verify a property or confirm a booking.

First, ask the property for the right details

Use your booking's contact channel to request the hotel's Chinese name, full Chinese address and front-desk phone number. Check the branch against the booking confirmation. If the property gives a separate entrance or arrival instruction, save that alongside the card.

You can adapt this message:

Please confirm the Chinese name and full Chinese address of the property for my booking, including the branch name, and a front-desk number I can call on arrival. Please also tell me if the entrance differs from the map location.

请确认我这笔预订对应的酒店中文名称、分店名称、完整中文地址和抵达时可联系的前台电话。如果入口与地图定位不同,也请告知具体入口。

Compare the reply with the booking and your saved map location. If the names or addresses conflict, ask the property to resolve the difference before making the card. Do not choose a branch because its English name looks familiar.

The address card does not establish whether the property can complete check-in for your booking. Ask that separately. The same tool section also has an optional bilingual pre-arrival confirmation template for check-in arrangements, room details and contacts; items left as pending still need the property's answer.

Make the card in four steps

  1. Open the hotel-card tool and expand Create my hotel card. If details are already saved, expand Edit or clear my saved details instead.
  2. Paste the property's confirmed Chinese name and address into their labelled fields. Add the front-desk phone number if useful. Leave optional personal details blank unless you want them on the image.
  3. Choose Save & download PNG. The tool attempts to save an editable copy in this browser and starts the image download.
  4. Open the downloaded image in your phone's photos or files. Read it back: the branch, address and phone number should match the property's reply.

If a download does not start, choose Download PNG again or Open image to save after generation. Opening the image in a browser tab alone is not an offline backup: save the file to your device, then test it below. If image creation fails, the tool keeps your details visible so you can try again or take a screenshot.

JavaScript is required to generate the PNG. The public guide text remains readable without it.

Test it with the connection off

Do this once before travelling:

  1. Close the downloaded image.
  2. Turn off mobile data and Wi-Fi briefly.
  3. Reopen the image from the phone's photos or files, without returning to the website.
  4. Zoom in and check that the Chinese name and full address are readable.
  5. Restore your connection.

Keep the image somewhere you can find quickly. If two people are travelling together, each can keep a copy of the necessary hotel details. Keep a separate saved map or entrance note where useful; the address card itself is not a navigation route.

When you arrive, show the destination and confirm it

Show the card to the person helping you, and point to the Chinese accommodation name and address. You can use this phrase:

我要去这家酒店。请帮我确认地址。谢谢。

That means: “I want to go to this hotel. Please help me confirm the address. Thank you.”

Keep your booking available for check-in and contact the property if the destination or entrance remains unclear. A readable card can help communication; it does not guarantee that a driver recognises the property, chooses a particular route or agrees to a fare.

Update the file when your stay changes

The tool keeps one editable set of details in this browser. If you have several stays, download a card for each property and keep the files separately. Editing the browser copy does not update an image you already downloaded. If you change hotels, edit the details and download a new card. Check which image you are showing before setting out.

Hotel-card details are processed locally by this tool. They are not submitted to its server, put in the page URL or added to the public guide PDFs. Browser storage may be unavailable or later cleared, so keep the downloaded image rather than relying on the editable draft.

Clear my saved travel details removes the browser copy when storage is available. Delete any downloaded images separately if you no longer want them. Share the card only with someone helping you; optional contacts will be visible to anyone who sees the image.

Connect the card to your arrival plan

Use the airport-to-hotel checklist for your first arrival decisions. If you are taking a train, read the railway guide. For sightseeing after you settle in, use the two-day Shanghai itinerary.

This tutorial describes the existing tool and a preparation workflow. It has not tested a real hotel reply, driver interaction or check-in outcome.
