Who operates this service
CHINA CLEARLY is an independent editorial project published under its project name during the pre-company phase. A company operator and public contact will be added before the travel-guide email or subscription features are enabled. The separate merchant-research contact is disclosed below.
No email collection or subscription
The travel-guide and Arrival Ready features do not accept email addresses, send the Arrival Ready Pack by email or create Newsletter contacts. The separate, voluntary merchant-research form is described below. The Arrival Ready Pack opens directly, and Newsletter issues are published only on the website.
Future subscription feature
Email collection will remain off until a company operator, public contact, reviewed consent flow, provider configuration and updated legal notices are in place.
Optional merchant research
The separate inbound-tourism merchant survey stores the answers you choose to submit for product research. It does not require a name, phone number or WeChat account. An optional email address is used only to contact you about selection for the information-assistant trial; it does not subscribe you to a Newsletter or authorize sales messages. Submitting does not guarantee selection or activate a trial.
Survey answers, their version, submission time, identifier and receipt are stored privately in Vercel Blob in Hong Kong. They are not published or included in website analytics. Existing survey records are retained when moving from the former Sites storage. Please do not include customer names, identity documents or contact details in your answers.
For a request to access, correct or delete your research response, contact sunnyychao228@gmail.com and quote your receipt if available. We may need to verify the request before acting. This does not add a public response lookup or editing feature. Research responses and optional contact details are retained for the research and voluntary trial-selection purposes; this notice does not promise a fixed deletion date.
Merchant research storage update: 19 October 2026. The travel-guide email delivery and Newsletter feature settings remain separate.
Device-only details
Checklist state and editable hotel-card details stay in this browser's Local Storage. You can also download a personal hotel-card image generated on your device. These details are not submitted to the server, placed in a page URL or added to the public guide PDFs. Use “Clear my saved travel details” in the Emergency guide to remove the browser copy of your hotel card. Clearing browser storage can also remove that copy. Downloaded images remain on your device until you delete them separately.
Route Checker and optional AI assistance
The Route Checker sends the travel date to our server to check policy availability. When you submit a route, it sends the route, dates and times, passport nationality, type and expiry date, stay areas, onward travel evidence and your answers about additional conditions to our server for a deterministic check. Do not submit names, passport numbers or document images. The application does not create a traveler profile, save these answers in a database, place them in page URLs or keep them in browser storage. Form answers remain in page memory until you leave or reload.
If you choose an AI assistant in a browser that supports Site tools, the AI service you use processes what you share in its conversation under its own privacy terms. The context tool sends the arrival date; the route-check tool submits the fields needed for the check to this website and returns the result to that assistant. These tools do not read or alter answers in the webpage form. We do not claim that information shared with your AI service stays only in your browser.
The application does not intentionally log route request bodies. Infrastructure providers may process technical request metadata as described below. Route Checker page views are excluded from our analytics allowlist until their separate privacy review and release approval. Itineraries, passport expiry dates and additional-condition answers are not sent as analytics events. Page views cannot establish that a route check succeeded.

Hosting and technical logs
The production site is hosted by Vercel; review its privacy information for infrastructure processing. The hosting provider may process ordinary request metadata such as IP address, browser information and request time for security and operations.
Embedded YouTube videos
The Videos library does not contact YouTube when it first opens. Selecting a video opens a large player and immediately loads the chosen embed from youtube-nocookie.com. Opening a standalone Videos watch page loads its player when the page opens. In either case, YouTube and Google receive ordinary technical information needed to deliver the player, such as the request, IP address, browser information and referring site. The player may show non-personalized advertising and remains subject to YouTube's privacy policy.
The library may start the selected video after you click its card; standalone watch pages do not autoplay. CHINA CLEARLY does not use the YouTube JavaScript player API or send hotel-card details, checklist state or email addresses to the player. The separate “Open on YouTube” link leaves this site and uses YouTube directly.
Your choices and requests
The travel-guide features do not accept account, email or server-side travel-profile submissions. For merchant-research answers or an optional trial-contact email, use the request channel in the merchant-research section above. You can clear the editable hotel card in the Emergency guide or by clearing browser storage. Delete downloaded images separately.
Cookies, analytics and changes
On our production website, we use Vercel Web Analytics to understand visits to public pages and improve our guides. It records page views and processes request and device metadata, including the referring page, approximate location, browser and device type, to provide aggregate reports. Vercel describes this service as cookie-free analytics; read its Web Analytics privacy information for details of provider processing.
Our integration removes query strings, including UTM parameters, and fragments from the page URL reported to Analytics, and counts only known public page paths. We do not send form values, hotel-card details, email addresses or checklist state as analytics event data. Custom events, advertising, session recordings and cross-site advertising profiles are not enabled. A page view does not tell us whether you completed a download or saved a guide offline.
Local Storage and the service worker remain limited to the device features described above. Changes to analytics, embedded media, advertising, providers or data uses require a renewed privacy review before release.
